Abstract Digital Imagery
This body of work is based off an interest in digital abstraction and manipulation of photographs. We encounter manipulated photos on a daily basis, if not every second while connected to our phones and social media.
I push the bounds of photo manipulation so that the entire image becomes something completely removed from the original photo, so that it becomes the medium in which it manipulates itself. Abstract digital imagery; a digital image composed from a single photograph worked onto itself.
This work also acts as an intersection between the digital and “real” world, to that effect, working with a single photo of the “real” world to create a digital landscape. The final results of these images depend on if they can no longer be decipherable as a photograph, thus they become abstract digital imagery.
